Science-Oriented Career Guidance System started
A very newly started guided system was started for physically or mentally handicap not only for children but adult also. This program is also helpful for non handicapped one. Special focus is given for visual, hearing, and orthopedic handicaps. The following products were developed: (1) two hundred twenty-eight science-related career briefs in large print, audio tape, Braille, and microfiche formats (each includes job description, preparation requirements, earnings, and employment outlook); (2) ten sound filmstrips showing sixty handicapped scientists filmed on the job; (3) radio and television public service announcements about science career opportunities for the physically handicapped; (4) a science career guide for the visually handicapped; (5) self-career exploration and decision making exercises; and (6) companion science and work-related glossaries for those with severe hearing handicaps. These products are used not only by handicaps but these packages are used by non handicaps in separate class rooms.
