2D bitmap graphics is used on the computer for creating and editing of figures. And 2D vector graphics is used for editing. This includes programmed computerized version for traditional animation techniques like onion skinning, interpolated rotoscoping, tweening and morphing.

Digital models can be manipulated with the help of an animator. To manipulate one mesh digital armature is required. And procedure is called rigging.
